Supported File formats for Lightroom

Photoshop Lightroom is able to import 5 formats

RAW, DNG, TIFF, JPG, PSD

The new format called DNG  (digital negative) was created by Adobe.  It’s a RAW file and more information can be found on Adobe’s website

PSD files are Photoshop Native.  They can be used in Lightroom in its native format rather than compress it to a jpeg file to export.
