Depth of Field

Depth of field is a technical term in photography that generates a great deal of interest and fascination, especially for those who are just discovering it for the first time. Don’t get put off the technicalities as this topic can lead to some very effective enhancements to your pictures.

Depth of field is the distance in front of and behind the subject you are focused on that is in continuous sharp focus.

Today I want to talk about how to use it creatively.  If you are new to this subject then we will start with the basics so don’t panic however, if you have had Marita’s or Pete’s classes I want you to push the idea past the technical side to the creative use of it.

Here are a couple of idea’s using the same technique.  ( I grabbed these from a blog, it was nice work and as to not steal and give credit here is a link to the site http://dpnow.com/forum2/showthread.php?p=41757#post41757)

Here are some links we will be looking at for todays lecture. We will then go into the studio and try it out!
